“Do What You Are” Personality Assessment: Starks College Connection is pleased to announce that the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test called “Do What You Are” is now being offered to SCC students. This test is used in business and education for career counseling, team building, conflict resolution, and management development. Starks College Connection uses this test to promote understanding between students and parents by revealing the student’s preferred communication style. “Do What You Are” demonstrates that so-called “random behavior” is actually predictable, based on a person’s view of the world and expressed preferences between poles of four scales: extraversion and introversion, sensing and intuition, thinking and feeling, and judging and perceiving. These preferences define one of four main temperaments and one of 16 distinct personality types, each with its own way of looking at the world, each with its own strengths and personal challenges. SCC will use this information as another tool in helping students determine college majors and careers, for those who are unsure of which direction to go.
