Connection
As your student’s advocate, I work to demystify,
simplify and organize the application process to minimize the stress on your
student and your family. My goal is to guide students through a series of steps
that requires goal setting, appropriate research, and self-advocacy. I
do not do the work for them but direct their efforts.
Starks College Connection will:

Evaluate student’s academic record including
high school transcript, standardized test scores and extracurricular activities. |

Provide support with decisions regarding
high school course selection, community service and summer programs. |

Create a preliminary college list based on
student's expressed preferences, interests, talents and abilities. |

Facilitate student assessment process to
ensure a good college match. |

Organize application tasks using online
Student Portal. |

Prepare student for effective college visits
and interviews. |

Assist with developing dynamic essay topics. |

Help with narrowing the final college list
fall of senior year to include Reach, Target and Likely schools. |

Edit and review all essays, short answers
and applications. |

Help with the final selection choice spring
of senior year. |

Advise on wait list policies, acceptance
offers and financial aid packages. |
