Laurie brings years of varied and relevant experience to her role as a college advisor. After a successful marketing career at IBM, Laurie “retired” to raise her three children and was a community volunteer providing leadership to various organizations for many years. While working in the Carroll Senior High School Guidance office, she was able to witness the struggle that many teens in this highly competitive school district experience while preparing and applying to college. Laurie realized there was a need for someone to step in to assist families with this sometimes stressful and complex experience. She has since dedicated herself to becoming an expert on college admissions. After completing courses at the UCLA College Counseling Certificate Program, and mentoring with an experienced college counselor, Laurie began her college counseling practice in 2004.

Laurie commands great respect as an educational consultant in college admissions, and she takes pride in continued education by constantly monitoring up to date admissions trends, frequenting many college campuses throughout the U.S., meeting with college admissions representatives on a regular basis and attending professional conferences, both regionally and nationally to ensure the highest quality, current information for each of her clients.

Laurie’s ongoing professional development activities include membership in the Texas Association for College Admissions Counseling (TACAC), Higher Educational Consultants Association (HECA) where she is currently the Membership Chairperson, and National College Advocacy Group (NCAG). Laurie visits dozens of campuses each year, attends annual conferences, and participates in College and Financial Aid Webinars. A 16 year resident of Southlake, TX, she is married and has three children, two are college graduates, and one is a college student.

Laurie frequently speaks to parents and students to highlight the facts, the myths, the realities and the competition involved in the college admissions process. With a knack for successfully matching students to the right colleges, she is the expert to have as your advocate to navigate the hurdles and obstacles in the challenging road to the college of your choice.
